Ten Broeck Commons was created to offer an enlightened approach to providing health care services to the elderly. Our philosophy is to ensure that residents have skilled and compassionate care while enabling them to experience the highest quality of life. Facilities

Ten Broeck Commons is an elder care facility designed to enable residents to enjoy their later years in a comfortable setting that supports maximum independence and safety. Many first time visitors are pleasantly surprised by the facility’s warm, homelike ambience and numerous amenities. The healthcare needs of each resident are attended to with a comprehensive range of medical and rehabilitation services including 24-hour skilled nursing care. Along with quality health care, we are equally committed to seeing that residents experience the best possible quality of life. We offer bright, cheerful rooms, restaurant style dining, individual and group activities, recreational activities, beauty parlor/barber shop services, plus housekeeping, laundry and other services that help foster the dignity and autonomy residents cherish.

Rooms

The comfort of every resident was a prime concern in the design of Ten Broeck Commons. We have created private and semi-private rooms that are beautifully furnished and offer all the amenities for comfortable, secure living. Residents are encouraged to bring familiar and cherished items to give their rooms the personal touches that enhance the inviting, home-like feeling.

Food Service

Dining together as a family is one of the most pleasurable social activities our residents look forward to each day. Our professional foodservice staff takes great pride in preparing meals that are both delicious and nutritious. We strive to provide a fine dining experience while creating meals guided by each individuals special dietary needs or restrictions. Meals are graciously served in our attractive and comfortable dining rooms. Room service is also available upon request or when needed. And, with short notice, family members can join their loved one for breakfast, lunch or dinner.

Activities

At Ten Broeck Commons, it is our goal to provide not only the highest-quality care, but to offer each resident the opportunity to continue leading the same, full active lifestyle he or she did at home. That’s why activities with family and the community are the everyday heartbeat of Ten Broeck Commons. Our Recreation Department plans a full roster of weekly, monthly and annual events that keep residents engaged. From holiday festivities to birthday parties, from picnics to attending ballgames, residents enjoy a wide range of activities that keep them mentally and physically stimulated, while providing important social interaction and just plain fun.


HEALTH CARE SERVICES

Rehabilitation

The goal of the rehab program at Ten Broeck Commons is to help residents achieve the skills they need so they can return home quickly and safely. We provide rehabilitation services for patients recovering from ailments such as, joint replacement surgery, a stroke or a prolonged hospital stay. We can also provide wound care, trach care, and IV therapy. Our physical, occupational and speech therapists, experienced in geriatric rehabilitation, carefully evaluate each resident and provide a program of individualized care. Family members are welcome to attend therapy sessions to make the transition home easier. We can also set up a home evaluation to ensure the home environment is safe and arrange for delivery of any necessary equipment or services.

Post-Hospital Care

In this era of shorter hospital stays, it is more important than ever to have a highly skilled, local facility that can assist patients through the recovery process. Long-Term Care

Dementia Care

For residents with a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s or other related dementia problems, Ten Broeck Commons offers high-quality care and expert supervision. A Special Care Neighborhood, devoted solely to residents with memory impairment problems, provides a supportive and secure environment with a focus on activities that benefit the residents who live there. An interdisciplinary team of doctors, nurses and therapists assesses each resident’s abilities and develops a care plan that reflects the unique needs of that individual. Interaction with other residents and staff is encouraged and monitored at all times.

Adult Day Care

Ten Broeck Commons community-based Adult Day Care program provides quality care for older adults who require supervision and healthcare service during the workday. Structured programs designed by our professional staff ensure that your loved one’s medical needs are met, and provide enjoyable social and recreational experiences.
