SERVICES
Our compassionate, friendly and professional staff includes certified physical and occupational therapists as well as social workers who are specially trained in geriatric care. Therapy programs for each resident are created by our therapists in conjunction with our residents’ personal physicians, thereby making certain each resident has a comprehensive care plan designed specifically for them.
We take great pride in our short-term rehabilitation program. Participants in this program are our “guests†as their stay with us is temporary. Our therapists, along with each guest’s personal physician, create individualized programs designed to meet the rehabilitative needs of each participant and maximize their full potential with the goal being their return to an independent setting.
In order to maintain our outstanding level of quality care, our staff members participate in ongoing training programs and health-related seminars within their respective fields. Our carefully chosen team of professionals is ready 24 hours a day to provide our residents with the services they may need. Accommodations
Our single-level floor plan lends itself to easy mobility for our residents as they visit with friends and family, dine and attend activities within the facility. Our beautifully decorated living, dining and activity rooms provide our residents with safe and comfortable settings in which they can relax, socialize and share special moments while enjoying all the comforts of home. Our smaller size creates an intimate and residential atmosphere for our residents.
Adjusting to a new environment isn’t always easy. We are sensitive to this and while we hope our living environment is warm and welcoming, what says home more than something personal? Although our resident rooms are fully furnished, our residents are welcome to bring familiar items with them such as photographs and other special mementos to help create a feeling of home here at Newark Manor.
Cable television service is conveniently available in each resident room. Each of our resident bedrooms and restrooms are furnished with a special nurse call system to reassure our residents that personal nursing assistance, if needed, is immediately accessible. Newark Manor provides complete laundry and housekeeping services as well as easy and convenient access to in-house dental, podiatry, optometry, beauty shop and barber services.

For families that travel to Florida during our chilly winter months that would like to have their loved one close by, Newark Manor has a long-standing relationship with an affiliate nursing home in Boca Raton, Florida. RECREATION/ACTIVITIES
Finding ways to enrich the lives of our residents so they may continue to feel challenged, active and involved is one of the primary goals of our activities staff. We encourage our residents to express themselves within a variety of social activities.
Among many of our popular activities at Newark Manor are scenic day trips, lunch outings and community concerts. We sponsor a local girl’s softball team and residents can be heard cheering on Team Newark Manor at many of the exciting games. Visits from children’s groups, special holiday festivities, picnics, bingo, pet therapy and arts and crafts are but a few of our sure-to-bring-a-smile activities, all designed to enhance the emotional and spiritual well-being of our residents.
Our residents take great delight in exercising their green thumbs as part of our Garden Club. There is a sense of pride and joy in planting and harvesting delicious fruits and vegetables from their very own garden. For many, this activity elicits fond memories of their own backyard gardens that then become the subject of delightful stories shared among the residents.
Cultural and religious services are also provided for all faiths.
DIET & NUTRITION
The aroma of home-cooked meals prepared by our dedicated food service staff invites residents to socialize and dine within a family setting. Our dietitians take great pride in customizing and preparing tasty meals designed to meet each of our residents’ individual dietary and nutritional needs.
While we strongly believe our residents benefit greatly from socializing with their friends while they dine in our beautiful Garden Dining Room, our Meadow Dining Room and our Sunshine Café, we are sensitive to those residents who may require our personalized room service. Friends and family are always welcome to join their loved one for a delicious, home-cooked meal.
