The Mohawk Valley Nursing Home (MVNH) has earned an excellent reputation in the area for quality care and commitment. The facility has been in operation since 1972 and is equipped with 120 skilled nursing beds to provide for the short and/or long term care needs of residents within the communities of the Mohawk Valley. It is fully licensed by the New York State Department of Health and is approved for Medicare and Medicaid recipients.
MVNH provides a wide variety of services for its residents, including: physician services, physical therapy and occupational therapy, nursing services, social services, therapeutic recreation, religious services, dental/podiatry/optometry services, beauty & barber shop services, clergy visits, housekeeping and laundry services. Specially tailored meals from our nutritionists are prepared by our highly skilled chefs.
Director of Rehabilitation Services, Mr. James Walczak, is a certified wound specialist which enables him to treat all types of wounds using laser, ultrasound, and electrical stimulation to promote the process of healing. Our continuum of rehabilitation care includes both inpatient and outpatient programs as needed.
Staff members in the social services department are available to assist residents and families in meeting their social needs, including appropriate placement and discharge planning. The Director of Admissions and his trained staff are ready to assist residents and family members in all their needs. Individual quality of care meetings between staff and family members are scheduled to discuss progress or issues of concern. The social services department works with the nursing staff to assure the quality of care for each resident is second to none.
