The Edward L. Wilkinson Residential Health Care Facility.
Located behind the hospital on Route 30, the Wilkinson Center at Amsterdam Memorial is the area's most complete long-term care facility. The 160-bed skilled nursing facility offers a full range of services in a caring, residential setting designed to meet the physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs of each resident. The Wilkinson Center is the only nursing home in Montgomery County that has a special wing exclusively for patients with dementia, Alzheimer’s disease or other brain disorders.
Our facility offers a broad program of ancilliary services including adult day care, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology and audiology - all directed toward maintaining or improving the physical and functional capabilities of our residents.
- 160 Skilled Nursing Beds
In our facility overlooking the Mohawk Valley, our rooms are bright and cheerful with skilled nurses available 24 hours a day.
- Full Range of Rehabilitation Services
Our facility offers a broad program of rehabilitation services including physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech pathology and audiology - all directed toward maintaining or improving the physical and functional capabilities or our residents.
- Daily Recreational Activities
Provided seven days a week, daily activities include religious services, ceramics, cooking groups, crafts and hobbies, pet therapy, live entertainment, games, music, and parties.
- Family Oriented Atmosphere
We welcome families to join in the activities, especially the evening parties and other special events. Family conferences are held a few weeks after admission and whenever the need arises to discuss resident's needs and plans of care.
- Spiritual Support
A part-time chaplain provides religious services and responds to residents' needs for spiritual and emotional support. Other local clergy also make arrangements for services and to visit residents.
