Our Long Term Care program focuses on keeping our residents functioning at their highest potential, while providing skilled nursing care in a warm, friendly, and home-like environment. Our professional nursing staff is on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Nurses are professionally trained in geriatrics and long term care. They are aided by our certified Nursing Assistants, who are carefully screened, and like all of our staff, trained by our in house education department, which works to continuously assure that all nursing staff functions are performed at the highest standards of care.

Staff members meet weekly to ensure that each resident has a thorough and personalized care plan, developed in partnership with his or her family. This plan includes a wide range of health care, social services, recreational activities, rehabilitative therapies, nutritional counseling, and any other necessary components needed to guarantee that our residents are receiving the best care and reaching their highest potential.

Our dedication goes well beyond the medical services we provide. We encourage our residents to stay active and involved in our community and offer many programs, services, and amenities to assist in this goal.

All residents are provided with well lit and beautifully decorated private or semi-private accommodations, each having the convenience of a lavatory and dressing area attached to the room. Each resident bed is equipped with a private phone and wired for satellite television reception. The rooms are also provided with storage for personal belongings and receive housekeeping services on a daily basis.

Good food is an integral part of life. Thatâ€™s why at Smithtown Center we serve three delicious and nutritious meals each day. Prepared by our in-house chefs, menus change daily and alternatives choices are always available. The menus are planned by our Director of Food Services, in conjunction with our chefs, and are reviewed by our nutritionist.

Of course, looking good usually leads to feeling good, which is why we encourage residents to look their best. Our in-house full service beauty and barber salon allow residents to receive the pampering they deserve without ever having to leave the building.
