Cuba Memorial Hospital's Residential Health Care Facility is a 61 bed skilled nursing facility. Excellent health care, comfortable living arrangements, ample recreational and social opportunities, safety and security for our residents are provided by a well-trained staff of professionals. We understand the emotions that families may be experiencing during this time of change, and we strive to ease the transition by treating residents and families with respect, warmth and compassion.
The Hospital also provides a specialized Palliative Care program featuring a special private room for the end of life event. Palliative Care is a medical specialty devoted to caring for the seriously ill who are approaching the end of life. Our multi-disciplinary team comprised of a physician, nurse specialist, social worker and patient advocate focus on proving comfort and pain management, rather than a cure. The team's goal is to enhance the quality of life - spiritually, emotionally and physically - for those with limiting, chronic or debilitating illnesses and to reduce the stress endured by their families at this difficult time. The palliative care team also assists families and loved ones with questions on advanced directives such as health care proxy and resuscitation orders. In addition, bereavement services are provided.
Our facility provides an area, for Palliative Care patients that is a comfortable, home-like atmosphere. It is designed for the comfort of the patient and the family and loved ones. Our multidisciplinary team meets with patients and families to discuss goals and takes into consideration the individual’s personal values and priorities.
