Located on Roosevelt Island, in New York City, our 2,000-bed facility offers patient/resident focused clinical, nursing and rehabilitative care necessary to address the medical, physical, and social needs of patients/residents. At ColerGoldwater, we recognize that each patient/resident is an individual with a unique set of needs. Each patient/resident is assessed, upon admission, for their potential for discharge to the most appropriate setting. Whether they require placement in our nursing facility or a plan to return to the community after rehabilitation, the social work and discharge planning staff is available to assist them. The discharge planning process provides:

- Patient and family education and planning with assistance programs.
- The acquisition of special equipment and supplies to facilitate patients mobility and independence.
- Coordination with home healthcare services and community-based providers.

When a patient faces hospitalization, it is comforting to know that the care received will be delivered by a professional and dedicated staff. ColerGoldwater's nurses are knowledgeable, devoted and compassionate professionals who strive to achieve the most positive outcome for each patient/resident. With expertise in specialized clinical areas such as ventilator care, decubitus care and rehabilitation nursing, they are key members of the interdisciplinary clinical teams responsible for the comprehensive care plans that are developed for all patients/residents.


ANCILLARY SERVICES

ColerGoldwater's ancillary services play a significant role in making us a comprehensive specialty care facility. Whether it is for diagnostic or therapeutic services, these services are provided on-site and afford both staff and patients/residents a quick response time.

Multi-Lingual Services
ColerGoldwater's employee volunteer bank provides language interpreters fluent in Arabic, Bengali, Cantonese, Dutch, Filipino, French, French/Creole, German, Greek, Gujarati, Hebrew, Hindi, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Malayalam, Mandarin, Polish, Punjabi, Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Tagalog, Tamil, Urdu, and Yiddish. When required, a patient representative is able to facilitate the use of ColerGoldwater's Translation Service, which is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. An American Sign Language interpreter is also available.

Dental Center
ColerGoldwater provides full-service on-site dental care to our patients/residents. We offer general dentistry (including regular oral care provided by a hygienist) augmented by the specialties of periodontics, endodontics, and oral surgery, including dental implants.

Diagnostic Lab
ColerGoldwater maintains a 24-hour lab for diagnostic services. This unit facilitates the collection and processing of specimens, allowing the medical staff to confirm and treat illnesses quickly.

Bio-Engineering Department
ColerGoldwater's bio-engineering staff provides regular maintenance and swift repairs for wheelchairs, respirators, and other sophisticated devices needed to ensure quality patient/resident care and safety.

Radiology
ColerGoldwater has the capability to diagnose, assess, and treat patients quickly, using our on-site radiology services. We can conduct most tests, including CT scans, ultrasound, X-rays, and mammography without transporting a patient/resident off-site.
