The Claxton-Hepburn Residential Health Care Facility, frequently called the RHCF, connected to Claxton-Hepburn, is a 23-bed skilled nursing facility. The RHCF has been providing medical care to the North Country for over 80 years.

The staff's dedication and commitment to the residents are what sets the Claxton-Hepburn RHCF a cut above other skilled nursing facilities in the North Country. The RHCF staff work effortlessly to deliver quality care with the utmost respect and compassion for the resident. This has been proven repeatedly as the unit receives high marks during evaluations from the New York State Department of Health.

The staff is also committed to make each resident's stay as pleasant and rewarding as possible. They provide a variety of activities and programs for the group or individual.

The RHCF has an activities program for the residents that is a planned schedule of recreational, social and other purposeful activities. It is designed to make life more meaningful, to stimulate and support the desire to use physical and mental capacities to the fullest extent, and to enable them to maintain a sense of usefulness and self respect, but not specifically designed to correct or remedy any disability. The resident's physician provides a written order concerning activities participation.

Below is a list of some of the activities offered:

- Coffee hour
- Dining out
- Exercise group
- Games and crafts
- Gardening
- Movies/videos
- Community outings
