At Atlantis Rehabilitation & Residential Health Care Facility, we take great pride in providing a multilingual staff to accommodate the needs of all of our patients. Our services are in English, Chinese, and Spanish. Atlantis Rehab also ensures that the spiritual needs of all of our patients are met by rendering a full range of religious services. We go far beyond all Federal and State regulations by supplying the very latest and best in total health care. Our comprehensive list of services include; Short-Term Rehabilitation, Respiratory Care, IV Therapy, Wound Care, Long-Term Health Care, and Hospice Care.
Atlantis Rehabilitation is a 400-bed, long-term care facility in the Fort Greene section of Brooklyn . Our eleven-story building overlooks the scenic Fort Greene Park and is adjacent to the Brooklyn Hospital , replete with various medical specialties. We are located two blocks from De Kalb Avenue , convenient to all public transportation.
Our building has been constructed with single and double-bedded rooms, each with an adjoining lavatory.
Our second floor leads onto a large outdoor patio, which is safe and comfortable for use by our residents and visitors. Our contemporary building is furnished with the latest safety equipment and features. It is tastefully decorated to achieve a homelike environment. Our residents are encouraged to bring artifacts and other memorabilia from home to recreate the atmosphere of home in their new surroundings.
Atlantis Rehabilitation Center complies with all Federal and State requirements; but we pride ourselves in going above and beyond those requirements. We attempt to provide the highest quality of care for our residents. To achieve this aim, our staff is constantly trained and given refresher courses on the needs of our elderly patients.
Our facility has the distinction of having received two awards from the New York State Health Department for our innovative Best Practices, as well as having received the American Health care Association's National Quality of Life Award. All of these prestigious awards are as a direct result of our endless pursuit for quality methods of providing excellent health care.
Our residents receive the benefit of our entire health team of professionals. These professionals consist of physicians, nurses, social workers, dieticians, physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech therapist, and recreational therapists. In addition, we provide various specialists as in-house consultants. We have an in-house dentist, podiatrist, ophthalmologist, ENT, neurologist, audiologist, etc.
Each of these individuals strives to emulate Atlantis' philosophy of assisting our elderly residents in making life as comfortable as possible.
Atlantis Rehabilitation accommodates various religious groups and provides religious services for Catholics Protestants, Jews, and Buddhists.
We take great pride in our trilingual staff. We provide services in English, Spanish, and Chinese and assure that each department addresses the needs of our residents. Our excellent dietary staff offers food alternatives of various ethnic cultures. The needs of each residents are addressed by his/her dietitian to accommodate their food preferences.
Skilled and sympathetic nursing staffs are available 24 hours a day, under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse. Individuals receive the care and treatment prescribed by their physicians, with extra tenderness and concern.
Our caring staff of professional social workers strives to make the residents' initial adjustment, to their new home, as smooth as possible. Many of our residents have resided here for over ten years and consider this their home.
