Residents also can enjoy the company of family and friends in the many common rooms, lounges, patios and private dining rooms. No matter which ElderWood residence you choose, you can be sure your family member will enjoy the highest possible quality of life.

Professional Staff With A Caring Touch

Skilled nursing - ElderWood residences are staffed by teams of Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants, overseen by a Board-certified medical director specially trained in geriatric medicine.

Physicians - Attending physicians and nurse practitioners work closely to ensure the medical needs of the residents are met. Physician and nurse practitioner visits are predicated on each resident's specific needs and conditions. Residents may continue care under their personal physician, if desired.
Allied health professionals - If needed, in-house services including diagnostic testing, pharmacy, dentistry, optometry, psychiatry, audiology and podiatry are available.

Rehabilitation - Physical and occupational therapy are available at least five days a week, as well as speech therapy, if required.

Nutrition - Qualified dietitians and diet technicians continually monitor residents' individual needs during their stay.

Counseling - Social workers provide residents and their families with information and emotional support during admission, and are available for consultation as needed. A full-time business office coordinator is available for financial consultations. Also, ElderWood's full-time Chaplain meets the spiritual needs of skilled nursing residents.

Auxiliary services - Laundry, housekeeping, maintenance, security and other services are part of our daily responsibilities in meeting residents' needs.

The ElderWood Difference

ElderWood offers the right choice for the transition between hospital and home.

The length of stay for rehabilitation or subacute care averages only 22 days. And a greater percentage of ElderWood patients return to the community than the national average.

ElderWood also offers the area's only community-based ventilator care program, with small, portable ventilators providing residents with far more mobility than conventional units.

ElderWood's success results from our unique methods of care and attention to each patient's individual needs. While our goal is to return residents to an independent lifestyle, we offer assistance in obtaining services following discharge. Our staff is trained in all aspects of recovery, including continued care and home safety.
