Nursing

Cayuga County Nursing Home Nursing Department is staffed with RN's, LPN's, and Certified Nurses Aides. There is a Registered Nurse scheduled in the building 24 hours a day. Our staff is trained to care for patients who require wound care, tube feedings, and management of multiple conditions including Diabetes, Respiratory Diseases, Strokes, Heart Disease, and multiple other conditions. We also support the treatments of the Rehab Department by encouraging all to do as much for themselves as possible with a range of motion and walking program.

A Nurse Practitioner on staff is available to evaluate patients as well as, if needed, prescribe treatments under the direction of the Cayuga County Nursing Home Medical Director. Also available, is a Wound Care Specialist who is onsite on a monthly basis to recommend care for those who require those specific services.

Educational programs and In-Service programs that are offered to our Nursing staff maintains, enhances, and promotes our skills and commitment to quality and state of the art practices. That is why we are very proud to be listed in the New York State Attorney General's report on staffing in nursing facilities which meet or exceed established standards.
